Ashley & Tyler

They say every great love story has a moment where everything could have gone differently. For Ashley and Tyler, that moment came in the form of a Texas thunderstorm. The sky threatened, the forecast warned, and both of them almost stayed home. But the storm passed — as Texas storms always do — and what waited on the other side was each other.

Both had been invited as friends of friends to a Fourth of July lake party on Lake Travis. The storm rolled in with its best attempt at ruining everything — dark clouds, rumbling thunder, the whole dramatic production, and then, in true Texas fashion, packed up and left like it had somewhere better to be.

The party came back to life — music playing, people swimming, BBQ on the grill, and boats drifting lazily across the water under a now-perfect sky.

Ashley soon found herself drawn to a quieter corner of the lake, where an elderly dog named Maria was peacefully floating on a raft like she owned the place. Naturally, Ashley swam over. Some things just can't wait.

Tyler noticed her with the dog and, because of course he did, couldn't resist joining them. What started as a simple introduction over Maria's floaty quickly turned into something neither of them saw coming. From that moment on, they were inseparable, spending the rest of the day together out on the water while the sun made up for lost time.

Ashley knew Tyler was special because of his big heart, his emotional intelligence, and his ability to make any ordinary moment feel like an adventure. Tyler knew Ashley was the one because of her fun, bubbly spirit and the way she makes every room, or lake, a little brighter just by being in it.
